Illumination

  • Dec. 5th, 2006 at 12:53 AM
City of Lost Children

Illumination, originally uploaded by Booknero.

Sometimes, all of the pieces just come together in a nice little package: good lighting, excellent model, perfectly balanced mood... and this is what you get.

Please excuse me a moment of self ego stroking, but I'm quite pleased with this little photo I shot here :)

Anybody ('specially you Buffalo folk) wants to come model for me, let me know!

Beautiful pic.

Just lovely.

I love the muted, sepia-type colours

Thank ya, thank ya. We went a little hog wild Sunday and ended up shooting about a thousand (!) frames. Take enough images, something good is bound to come of it!

It makes sense, dearie, and I agree. You generally make more sense than you think you are ;)

Thanks! :) It's nice to know that people understand me, even when I'm sure no one does. :P

Do you take photos of fat chicks? I'd model for you if so!

That's a really nice photo. :)

Hey, she's not a skinny girl herself, for the record, so maybe we can pull something off. There are more pictures of her at my flickr, so see if anything else strikes you as interesting, and maybe we can pull something off :)

Very beautiful.
It's both dark, and ethereal.

Thank you much. Dark and ethereal are just the sorts of things that she likes, so I'm glad we pulled it off there :)

As I mentioned before, this is fabulous.

Next time I'm near Buffalo, you're shooting me. Because I think you're the only other person on the planet I trust behind a lens to do a spectacular job.

Jeez, no pressure!

I think my good stuff is just about 3/4 luck, you know.

I'm just sayin'.

You're much better than you give yourself credit for, you know. If you'd rather not shhot me, just say so, damnit ;-)

You really have talent, dearie. I've been telling you this for years :)

Oh hush.

I think part of it stems from me being so decidedly low-tech with everything (before the Photoshop comes out, that is). Good ol' point-and-shoot camera, hardly any tripod usage, nothing but natural or ambient lighting... but apparently you can do a lot with a black comforter, a sofa and a bare overhead bulb ;)

Now you know where to look when you need some photos done ;)

Thank you, thank you. I try to have at least one or two skills in this world! ;)
