Once more, taken from nebulous_blue:

Ten years ago: I was beginning to realize that college had lost its appeal to me, and that I was tired of jumping through the hoops. Good that me am still smart, yep.

Five years ago: I had a life-changing meeting.

One year ago: The questioning began. The answers are still being worked out.

Yesterday: I talked to several friends, all of whom separately mentioned that I am an extremely good friend to have. It was a little touching, even to my black and withered heart (okay, it's not really that black and withered; more like gray and wilted).

Today: I directed a different newscast than my usual program (a sanity vacation there), talked again with several friends, all of whom can't wait for me to come visit (or chewed me out for not coming their direction), wrote a bit of Muse material, left someone a message of love, instant messaged another one, and had some ice cream.

Tomorrow: More of the same from today: direct a couple of shows, send some more love around, write, and begin burning myself some road trip CDs. I think I'm going to need a lot of CDs, actually. It's going to be a long, long drive.

Five snacks I enjoy: Wasabi peas, Lemonheads, honey mustard pretzels, grapes, baby carrots.

Five bands that I know the lyrics of MOST of their songs: Grant Lee Buffalo/Grant-Lee Phillips, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Counting Crows

Five things I would do with $100,000,000: 1) Give every friend I have at least a million bucks 2) Buy nebulous_blue a studio 3) Buy onceupon a publishing house 4) Buy shannonsays anything she wants 5) Name it, and it's yours.

Five locations I'd like to run away to: 1) San Francisco 2) Toronto 3) the Badlands 4) Big Sur 5) Anywhere you are.

Five things I like doing: 1) Writing 2) Talking to friends 3) Long drives by myself 4) Reading 5) Staying up until dawn, doing all of the things listed above.

Five things I would never wear: 1) Nipple clamps... and that's about it. Never say never.

Five TV shows I like: Rescue Me, Battlestar Galactica, CBS Sunday Morning, The Daily Show, The Venture Bros.

Five movies: I think I answered this in my last post.

Five famous people I'd like to meet: I'm not really all that interested in meeting famous people, sorry. How about the Dalai Lama? I'd like to meet him. That's one. And moschus, I wouldn't mind meeting her (she'd probably argue her own fame level, however). Famous people rarely live up to whatever imagined coolness factor I or the culture have placed upon them, so why would I want to break whatever imaginary image of them I have? The Dalai Lama is just genuinely an interesting man, and I've already been talking with moschus (who has coolness to spare), so... gosh. I'm so easy.

Five biggest joys at the moment: my friends, five times over.

Five favorite toys: My Mac, my iPod, my camera, my video games, my brain.

If you hit the lottery I'll be expecting my check.

I already have the check made out, just not signed yet. I don't think my overdraft protection would cover it.

It's in the air. I'll save you a seat next to me when I figure out why mine is, too.

Think On It

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want yourself to be happy, practice compassion.
