Scientology Update

I forgot to mention that when I was working in a Waldenbooks back in college, one of our biggest "weird" issues was that we would find, stuffed between the same pages of every L. Ron Hubbard book in the store, a Scientology business card (I forget which pages it was now, which means I'm probably missing out on a secret of the universe now or something).

Also, before that I worked at a B. Dalton, and we would receive new copies of Dianetics fresh from the publisher with our price stickers already on the books. This means that the Scientologists, in order to artificially raise the sales numbers on the book ("over a thousand weeks on the best seller lists!") would go to book stores, buy their own books, and then send them right back to the stores they were purchased from when reorders for the books were placed.

I offer this tidbit as a tip to anyone out there who has written a terrible book, but already has endless amounts of money in which to drive it to the number one slot on the best seller list.

You can thank me later.

Think On It

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want yourself to be happy, practice compassion.
