Subject: Save NPR and PBS once and for all

Hi,

President Bush just proposed drastic cuts to NPR and PBS. We've stopped similar cuts in the past, but enough is enough: With the new Congress, we can make sure this never happens again.

We need Congress to save NPR and PBS once and for all.

Can you help out by signing this petition to Congress? It's really easy—just click the link below:

Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Anna Nicole Smith was the top story on every news program yesterday--over the war or our own local child molester or any of the thousands of other more relevant stories--but it just really, really is a sad thing. Not to sound overly harsh or cruel or anything, but really: why cares?

Apparently, news directors everywhere.

See, here's the drawback to 1) not having cable; and 2) having a nine-month pregnant woman stuck at home 24/7.

I have to sit in the same room with a television that is switched on and showing The View.

Someone, God, Satan, John Steinbeck's ghost, anyone: but a bullet in my head before I have to listen to this show again.

Gah!
